Living Landscape

Image
This was the final project for this class and we had to make some kind of landscape out of human body parts. During the demonstration the professor clumped a bunch of fingers together to make grass but it reminded me of coral so I decided to do an underwater scene. I made the coral out of fingers. The I made the clam out of lips with a tooth in it for a pearl. The other coral/ rock looking bottom is a picture of red blood cells. The background is a membrane of some sort. The squid is an eyeball and then 2 different pictures of hair. Finally the shipwreck scene is a skull, torso, and finally an arm and hand holding hair for a flag. This was a very odd sounding project at first but turned out to be very interesting.

Black and White to Color

Image
This was pretty difficult for me. I got very overwhelmed with the background as when I zoomed in it was hard to see what the item potentially was. Then outlining the people to color in the background was also hard too since it was hard to see outlines. I think my people in the front are the best along with the sidewalk as to me it looks very realistic. I should have maybe made the woman a little more colorful as she looks a little dull. This was the most difficult project for me and made me realize I prefer Illustrator over Photoshop.

Collage

Image
I tried to make this collage as related as I could. I did not want to put a bunch of random different living things together so I tried to make a jungle scene. It was a little hard trying to think of animals to put in it but I think it all worked out. Cutting out all of the animals was difficult if they were very fluffy but I think I did a decent job.

Painted Face

Image
This was my favorite project of the semester. I am very happy with the way that this turned out. It took me a few classes to get a hang of the technique that I ended using. I started with the pencil took and was drawing out the vector lines but it started to look too choppy. I played around and ended up using the blob brush tool for the rest and I am glad that I figured that out. I did my eyebrows a little too strong but that is the only thing I could change. Doing my hair was a bit difficult for me as there was a lot of highlight in my hair from the sun in the original picture, but it worked out.

Calligram

Image
We had to do a calligram of our face for this one using Illustrator. This was one of the most time consuming projects of the semester in my opinion. I started off very detailed with my face which made it difficult for me since I couldn't do half of my face small letters and detailed and the other half not. I love the way this one turned out even though it took me a good 20 hours to finish it. I chose one of my favorite colors as the background to keep it simple.

Yoshi Logo

Image
This was our first assignment on Illustrator and I chose to do Yoshi. I wasn't too sure about Illustrator so I chose a character that I knew well and that didn't look too difficult. I really enjoyed this project but getting all of the vectors the right size and angles took some time. There are a couple areas that I would go back and change if I could. Overall I was very happy with this, especially for my first time using Illustrator.

Dreamweaver Landscape

Image
This was our final Dreamweaver assignment and we had to code a landscape and it had to include certain things like rectangles, circles, triangles, and etc. I chose to do this because I wanted to try out the gradient affect and do a sunset. The rest of it was to make it look like a beach house setting.

Triangles

Image
This also went along with the rectangles canvas that we did on Dreamweaver. It was the same guidelines as we had to do different sizes, colors, and line widths. This one was harder for me to get to fit on the screen as they were not allowed to touch. The colors don't go too well with this one as I did not want to copy any colors from the rectangle one.

Rectangles

Image
This was the first assignment for this class using Dreamweaver. We were required to use different sized rectangles, colors, and different line thickness. I chose all of the sizes based on the fact that they were not allowed to touch and had to fit on a certain sized canvas. The colors I thought complimented each other.
